We need to recall that James Comey was fired as the director of the FBI back in 2017 during the first presidential time period of Trump. Also as compering with other sources such as CNN the official report is that Comey was formally INDICTED from a jury for serious allegetions against president Donald Trump. I have not been able to find evidence based on the arrest of James Comey. I did find this article by AP News which discussed that he was in deed indicted by a grand jury in North Carolina but not arrested. It also is not just something that only Trump just kind of did or worked on doing but it was the Trump administration working with the attorney general Todd Blanche.
