To fact-check this, I looked at a few reputable sources. Recent data, as confirmed by the Copernicus Climate Change Service, shows that February 2024 marked the highest global sea surface temperature on record, specifically highlighting a widespread pattern of ocean warming (https://climate.copernicus.eu/copernicus-february-2024-was-globally-warmest-record-global-sea-surface-temperatures-record-high). Additionally, reports from climate monitoring agencies, including Nature and Al Jazeera, consistently say that recent years have set successive records for ocean temperatures, with significant consequences for marine ecosystems and global weather patterns (https://www.nature.com/articles/(https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/3/7/oceans-break-high-temperature-record-on-warmest-february-marked-globally).

This increase in ocean temperatures aligns with scientific observations of accelerating climate change impacts, driven significantly by greenhouse gas emissions and occasional boosts from natural phenomena like El Niño (https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/3/7/oceans-break-high-temperature-record-on-warmest-february-marked-globally) (https://news.mongabay.com/2024/01/ocean-heating-breaks-record-again-with-disastrous-outcomes-for-the-planet/). The ongoing trend of rising sea temperatures has been linked to several ecological crises, such as extensive coral bleaching and alterations in marine biodiversity and fishery patterns (https://phys.org/news/2024-04-ocean-temperatures.html)(https://news.mongabay.com/2024/01/ocean-heating-breaks-record-again-with-disastrous-outcomes-for-the-planet/).

The claim that ocean heat records continue to be broken is supported by current scientific data and research.

The Reddit post had a screenshot claiming that the global surface sea temperature is the highest it has ever been. After doing research this screenshot is true, with many news articles being written about it. The data was found by climate scientists in Europe.

True, the Ocean is hotter than ever before. But, this Reddit thread frames the article in a way that it's a huge problem and causes panic. Climate Change is a current problem today. But this article speaks of the Temperature of the Ocean and storms. "Higher ocean temperatures provide more energy to fuel stronger storms."
