After looking into this, I found many sources who claimed after Dropkick Murphys' annual show on St. Patricks day, they were banned from 'X' after they criticized President Donald Trump and X owner, Elon Musk. When the video of the lead singer making those comments on stage was posted online, it gained the attention of Trump critics who then realized Dropkick Murphys' X account was suspended. When looking at their account it read, “Account suspended. X suspends accounts which violate the X Rules.” Other X users automatically assumed it was banned immediately after due to the comments, spreading information that was not necessarily true. Other reliable news sources, such as News Nation Now, Boston.com, and The Economic Times, began sharing this rumor saying Musk banned them which is against our right to free speech, which the source they used was just a post on ‘X’ by user @wvubeerguy. Once this news hit the media, the lead singer told music publication Billboard, ““We broke up with [Musk] first. We quit Twitter in 2022 when he was only half a Nazi,” Casey said, clarifying that the suspension did not come after his latest broadsides against Musk.” When the band deleted their account back in 2022, someone else took over their username, which the band then filed a legal complaint for someone impersonating them, which is what caused the account to be suspended.
