This is a false statement and has not been backed by valid evidence. IKEA has renewed its trademark registration in Russia till 2033. The sources claiming that IKEA has registered a new trademark in Russia are unreliable and generally anti Russia organizations.

According to the IKEA website they are "no longer operating retail operations in this country (Russia)" they state this to be due to "consequences of the war in Ukraine and due to interruptions of supply chains across the world". The original article linked in "X" appears to a biased unreliable website. On the Ingka Centres (IKEA company) website it has stated that they have sold the mega malls founded and operated by IKEA to Gazprombank Group a private Russian banking company. This statement is from 2023 and I haven't found a reliable source saying that they will be resuming. This shows that the claim is false and doesn't properly represent the actions of IKEA. As for the new trademark there is an article from Moscow Times from April 2025 that states that IKEA had registered a new trademark in Russia which was confirmed by the "the bulletin of the Federal Intellectual Property Service". It is linked but is in Russian and I wasn't able to translate it online. They also make a statement saying "the company has not commented on the situation" this being said I think there would need to be more information to confirm this especially since IKEA has not made a statement. In the meantime I would consider this a false claim until IKEA changes their stance publicly on their website or has confirmed.

Thank you for clarifying that this is not true. I thought you did a really good job at tracing back the old website and finding out it's not reliable. It makes sense with the wars going on right now why they wouldn't have any retail stores In Russia at the moment.

The claim that the Swedish company IKEA has registered a new trademark in Russia is false. IKEA has continued to register their trademark as IKEA until 2033 as stated by the company. “IKEA has renewed its trademark registration in Russia till 2033. Hilding Anders AB still has major Russian operations is a key supplier of beds for IKEA.”(Leave Russia KSE Institute). Though there is not much information on the subject I believe this claim to be false since there is very little evidence of IKEA registering a new trademark. However, there is evidence by the KSE institute which is an analytical center at the Kyiv School of Economics pointing toward IKEA maintaining their trademark until 2033 making it the most trusted source on the internet I could find at this given point in time.
