Your claim that no American citizens have been deported can be seen as true and untrue. While there are multiple instances of kids being “deported” alongside their mothers, there is more to that headline than meets the eye. What the headline doesn’t say is that most, if not all situations where a US citizen was deported was in the case that they were children who’s parents were in the country illegally and requested to have their kids taken with them rather than splitting the families apart and only deporting the mother. The problem with this whole argument is that there is no winning. People were upset when families were being split up because illegal immigrants tried to have a kid here and still ended up being deported. Trump is now telling people “Okay, we won’t split the families apart, however the mother is still being deported, as she should because she is in the country illegally, so if she requests they go with her then so be it, and people are still upset that they don’t get their due process in court, yet in Trumps first term of presidency, there was a case where two children of illegal immigrants were put in front of a judge and given their due process, and there was STILL outrage at the fact that they did not understand what was going on and they were separated from their families. There is no winning, because we can not let illegals immigrants stay in the country just because they thought they could have a kid in the US. That is a loophole they try and use to get past he law, which is what has led to Trump trying to change the birthrights of kids parented by immigrants. They truly brought this upon themselves by taking advantage of the system.

This is false.

A controversial assertion has circulated on BlueSky-a social media platform similar to Twitter-claiming that no American citizens have been deported. Given the lack of context or timeframe, this statement could be interpreted as applying to the entire history of the U.S., though it likely refers to recent deportations under the Trump administration amid ongoing political debates.

According to CNN, attorneys representing affected families dispute this claim, detailing cases where U.S.-born children and their mothers were forcibly removed. One mother’s 4-year-old child, reportedly undergoing cancer treatment, was deported despite the mother’s objections. Similarly, the National Immigration Project (nipnlg.org) states the idea that these families left voluntarily, stating that ICE misled them into attendingwhat were described as routine check ins before detaining them without due process.

Both sources challenge the narrative that these deportations were consensual, with the National Immigration Project explicitly calling the Department of Homeland Security’s claims "demonstrably false.' Instead, they describe a pattern of deception, where families were abruptly separated and denied legal recourse.

This claim is completely false.

Ice deported 3 children who are U.S. citizens. When the parents got arrested they were given virtually not time to speak with a lawyer and they sent there kids ages 2,4, and 7 with them. This is a complete abuse of power and this claim is very clearly false

This is false!!

The claim that "no Americans have been deported" is not true. In fact, it just happened this year in 2025.

In April 2025, a little girl who was only 2 years old and a U.S. citizen was deported to Honduras. Her name hasn't been shared for privacy, but in court papers, she’s called VML. She was sent away with her pregnant mom and her older sister, even though she was born in the U.S. and had the right to stay here.

Later, a judge said this should never have happened. He explained that there was no real process to make sure she was allowed to speak up or prove she was a citizen. She was taken out of the country without anyone listening to her side. This upset a lot of people, including lawyers and civil rights groups, because it showed that even American citizens can be wrongly deported when the system fails.

This wasn't the first time something like this happened, but it's one of the most shocking in recent years. It shows that mistakes do happen, and real American citizens—especially kids—can end up being treated like they're not from here.

So when someone says that no Americans have been deported, that’s just not true. We now have clear proof from 2025 that it has happened.

Not only is this claim false according to many credited sources, but you also used a statement from a random account on a Twitter-esque website.

Goura Ndiaye was a Mauritanian immigrant who lived in the United States for nearly two decades, building a life in Ohio where he worked as an electrician, supported his three U.S. citizen daughters, and was a dedicated member of his local church. Despite having no criminal record and regularly checking in with immigration authorities as required, he was suddenly detained during a routine visit with ICE in 2017 and later deported under the Trump administration’s mass deportation policies. At the time, he was suffering from a serious hip condition and was misled into believing he was being taken to a medical appointment, only to find himself shackled and placed on a plane to Mauritania—a country where Black citizens like him face a high risk of abuse and death. After arriving, Goura was forced to flee to neighboring Senegal due to the threat he faced, and he now lives there, separated from his family and in deteriorating health. His daughters in the U.S. have struggled with poverty, housing insecurity, and emotional trauma in his absence. Goura’s story illustrates the human cost of broad, punitive immigration enforcement and raises serious concerns about justice, public safety, and the treatment of long-term residents who have contributed meaningfully to their communities.

This claim is false. The article documents multiple cases where US citizen children were deported alongside their non-citizen parents. These deportations occurred without proper legal processes and attorneys say how the government often fails to recognize the children's citizenship. This shows that American citizens have been wrongfully deported.

This claim is misleading and false.

The misleading part of this claim is saying "Americans" are getting deported. The people who are getting deported are undocumented immigrants coming from other countries, most often Mexico. The National Immigrant Justice Center claimed that it's only immigrants getting deported, not Americans. The reason people say "Americans are getting deported" is because they have been in America for a while, not having a mass deportation threat by the president. Now with Trump making this threat this is why more immigrants are getting deported. So I disagree with the claim that it's Americans that are getting deported.

The claim that no Americans have been deported is up for debate. Although the bsky.app isn't a reputable source,  the userbuzzstryker.bsky.social's claim is made in response to video of a Homeland Security hearing. The examiner and Kristi Noem disagree over whether any Americans have been deported, sparking the debate.

On Homeland Security's government website, they address instances where mothers of children were deported and emphasize that they chose to bring their children, who are American citizens, to Honduras.

This makes the situation of the children who left the country as a result of deportations a grey area and up for debate within our government.

The claim that "no Americans have been deported" is false, as there have been many instances in which American citizens have been deported. Research into this claim immediately provides cases in which this happens, such as a case where an undocumented Honduran mother was deported to Honduras along with her 4 and 7 year old children according to PBS News. Both children were born in the United States, granting them citizenship while still being deported. Many other cases similar to this one can be found. The claim is also quite open to interpretation, as classifying someone as American can have several different meanings. It does not state that no American citizens have been deported, which further harms the claim as it does not give any framework for who can be considered an American.
