This claim is true, but misleading. It is true that he claimed Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton wrote the Epstein files, but he urged people not to care about the files, not the people who wrote it. On July 12, Donald Trump wrote a lengthy post on Truth Social, saying "Why are we giving publicity to Files written by Obama, Crooked Hillary, Comey, Brennan, and the Losers and Criminals of the Biden Administration...... They created the Epstein Files, just like they created the FAKE Hillary Clinton/Christopher Steele Dossier that they used on me, and now my so-called “friends” are playing right into their hands." Last week, the DOJ and FBI released a statement confirmed that Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide in August 2019, he did not have a "client list" and that no further investigation was needed. Also in his Truth Social post, Trump said "not waste Time and Energy on Jeffrey Epstein, somebody that nobody cares about." Many news outlets said that if he did not address his fanbase, he was at risk of losing them.
