This claim appears to be false based on the lack of credible reporting. I cannot determine the context of the video attached to the Bluesky post, which shows only a damaged building and some pedestrians. No evidence exists of Ukrainian shelling in Donetsk around July 19th, when the post was made.

Interestingly, Russian forces launched attacks across multiple regions of Ukraine around that time (July 20), as reported by sources like Reuters and the Kyiv Independent. In Donetsk specifically, six people were killed by Russian missiles as recently as July 12, according to Reuters. The most recent shelling by Ukraine in the region that I could find occurred back in January.

This claim is false. On July 24, 2025, multiple credible sources confirm that Russian, not Ukrainian, forces launched an airstrike on Kostiantynivka, a city in Donetsk Oblast. The attack killed two civilians and injured 14 others. Damage included residential buildings, shops, and vehicles. Additional Russian strikes across Donetsk and other regions also caused injuries and infrastructure damage. There is no evidence supporting claims of a Ukrainian attack on Donetsk city on that date.
