According to a variety of different sources, the claim that “Obama committed treason” is false. There have been no credible sources or findings that have anything related to him committing a crime.

CNN was the primary source used. It reinforced the fact that the claim is false because they were accusing him based on what they thought went down in the election not based on actual evidence. Russia even tried to influence the 2016 election, but no votes were changed and Obama was not involved in anything illegal, said Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. Either way the claim lacks evidence, and fails to exceed any guidelines required to prove it was true. CNN

To back this up and build on the previous claim, the website BBC also supports the opposing view to Trump. They emphasized Trump's views where he claimed Obama “plotted to sabotage his first presidency” or “They tried to steal the election.” Rather than supporting him, they disagreed, saying they were irrational. Obama's spokesperson just believed it was “a poor attempt at creating a distraction,” whereas, Trump was simply referring to a report that “accused Obama and his national security team of a "years-long coup against President Trump." A video is the final piece to conclude that this claim is false. Every accusation needs a response which is what makes this piece so important. They show back and forth clips regarding the dispute between Trump and Biden. Trump reiterated the Russia dispute, but Biden rejected it all. Youtube Vid

This claim is false. There is no credible evidence that former President Barack Obama committed treason. Treason as defined by the U.S. Constitution, is narrowly limited to demand war against the United States or adhering to its enemies by giving them aid and comfort. Nothing associated with Obama meets that strict legal standard. NBC reports on a recent wave of accusations from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and President Trump, who claimed Obama fomented a “treasonous conspiracy” tied to intelligence surrounding the 2016 election. These allegations have no substantiation and have been broadly dismissed by officials. CNN describes Trump's treason accusations against Obama as unfounded noting no evidence supports such a claim.
