The claim that Russia has never interfered with American elections is false.

On July 13, 2018, a grand jury in the district of Columbia indicted 12 Russian military intelligence officers for their alleged roles in influencing the 2016 election. Many of the foreign operatives are charged with numerous crimes such as identity theft, money laundering, and the theft of classified U.S. documents. The unauthorized information was then systematically abused to influence the 2016 presidential election. This FBI sanctioned warrant for their arrest further details each individuals cases, and labels all 12 as most wanted.

Furthermore, This report from the Justice Department released in September of 2024 outlines the disruption of a Russian covert operation aiming to influence both U.S. and other elections abroad by maligning public opinion with misinformation. This eventually led to the seizure of 32 online domains used in the campaign.

Lastly, In this report by the DNI from January of 2017, the purposes and methods of said campaigns are detailed. Within the report, it claims that the Russian interference was designed in such a way to smear democratic candidate Hillary Clinton while boosting Republican Trump's reputation.

These official sources provide substantial evidence to prove the involvement of Russian bodies in American political affairs, standing as steady grounds to mark the claim false.
