In one year, Trump’s EPA will deregulate more than all other federal agencies did in entire presidencies.

The evidence shows that the EPA under Administrator Lee Zeldin did announce an unusually large set of deregulatory actions. These actions will roll back trillions in regulatory costs and hidden “taxes” on U.S. families. My main source was EPA United States Environmental Protection Agency. (https://www.epa.gov/newsreleases/epa-launches-biggest-deregulatory-action-us-history). This source doesn't have any biases as they are just reporting the updates within the EPA. EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin announced that the agency would undertake 31 historic actions in what it called “the greatest and most consequential day of deregulation in U.S. history,” claiming the rollbacks would save trillions in regulatory costs. This supports the idea that the EPA initiated a major deregulatory effort. But there is a lack of independent evidence verifying the “trillions” or comparing these actions to all other entire presidencies.

This claim is true; however, the original post is misleading. It is true in the sense that the EPA did put out a statement saying they intend to implement more deregulation practices. Originally put out by the official EPA BlueSky account, the promise to repair the environment is not very honest. The original post says, “We choose to protect the environment AND grow the economy.” However, in an article he wrote in the Wall Street Journal, he says, “we are driving a dagger through the heart of climate change religion.” His main goal is to roll back climate protecting legislation to roll back “trillions of dollars in regulatory costs and hidden taxes.” This concept is not protecting the environment as he claimed in the post on BlueSky. His goal is to save money and deregulate climate change regulations. The reality of the deregulation is not honest to what is likely to happen if it is carried out. So, in conclusion, the claim is true but misleading.
