The Donbass is now Russian once again.  It will remain Russian, unless the EU decides to openly declare war on Russia and risk nuclear war.

But no fear-the EU has not the balls necessary to fight a war with Russia…not without the big bad dog the US anyway.  Europe is “free” ONLY because of the US.

The Donbas region, according to Al Jazeera, is important to Russia for several reasons, including for strategic, economic, and symbolic reasoning, however the claim on the region is questionable. While Russia does control. major of the region it does not control all of it, which is an important distinction in this context.

A main reason Russia seeks control over the region is also because of the justification they used to enter war in Ukraine, saying they were liberators of the Russian speaking people of the region, however of course military conflict for the sake of taking new land is questionably legal in terms of international law.
