Jessie Eisenburg has a such a kind heart as he has always donated blood but now he is going to  donate one of his kidneys to person he doesn’t even know.

An altruistic donation is when a person donates a kidney to a person with advanced kidney disease who they don’t even know. Jessie states, “it’s essentially risk free and so needed’’. Jessie says he got the idea 10 years ago and his friend pointed him to a health center in NYC. He has taken multiple tests and he is scheduled for the surgery in December. His kidney will go into a bank and will be donated when a person becomes a match. He also has put his family on the list, making it accessible for his family if they ever need a kidney donor. There is a donor shortage in the US and 90,000 are on a transplant list waiting for a kidney.

Having a celebrity donate their kidney and choose to make a difference in the world for a random stranger might encourage other people to do it as well.

This is true! Jesse Eisenburg will be donating his kidney, after being shown to own a healthy one, to help lessen the amount of people within the US who are currently awaiting one. He has also said that he was "so excited" and that he felt it was a "no brainer." Although many people are simply talking about how generous it is, it's also important to note that with him being a celebrity it could inspire others to do the same. Eisenburg also credits his mother for teaching him about activism and his wife for further inspiring the practice of being selfless. Approximately 100,000 people in the US are currently awaiting a transplant and this action could very well help whittle down that number in the coming months. Hopefully more people, like Jesse Eisenberg, will continue to take action in the fight against kidney disease, to create a healthier and more selfless America.
