Across performance, operations, and fan engagement, AI is being used to parse enormous data sets, deliver more precise decisions, personalize experiences, and generate predictions that guide strategy. Examples range from automated ball-tracking in golf and offside detection in soccer, to AI-driven broadcasts, injury-risk modeling, and personalized highlight reels.
These advances also raise deeper sociological questions. AI is emerging as a cultural force in sport that reshapes labor, authority, and the meaning of expertise.
