This is true, according to OpenAI's website, users can initiate group chats in some regions. The company claims that this new feature will allow users and ChatGPT to: Use group chats to: "Plan events (trips, dinners, game nights) with friends or family, Collaborate on projects (home design, studying, research, work docs), Share links, notes, files, and images so everyone — including ChatGPT — has the same context, and Make decisions together (compare options, create pro/con lists, settle debates)" 

This feature is still in testing and has yet to be released worldwide, pending a date.
