HBO max has recently announced updates to their password sharing policies aiming to ensure that accounts are used only by people in the same household. The company has explained that it will offer different subscriptional tiers with additional fees for users who want to share their account to people outside their household. the topic of password security is very common for many streaming services. HBO has indicated that its approach may include monitoring login activity, devices, and geographic locations to dtermine whether accounts are being shared.

since password restrictions have been a higher focus for many services its not uncommon for people to think of such extreme measures such as face recognition.

The claim that HBO Max will require facial recognition for sign in is false. On devices that support face ID usage HBO Max is compatible and will allow sign in information to be accessed and used with facial recognition, but that is not a service of the streaming platform itself. According to the platform's website updates to subscriber plans have happened in recent history, however only to do with pricing, and there is no announcement of further changes at this time. This claim is a result of user speculation surrounding updates, and not reality.
