Nutrition experts agree that neither option is objectively better in all situations; it depends on dietary needs and portion size. This is because both white and dark meat offer different nutritional benefits; the claim that white meat is simply better than dark meat is misleading.

This claim is an opinion and it depends a lot on the person. When considering macronutrients and calories, white meat has a bit of an edge over dark meat with higher protein and lower fat, while also having 14 less calories in a 3.5 oz serving. However, dark meat has its benefits such as higher quantities of nutrients like iron, zinc, and B vitamins thiamine, niacin, and B12. Overall the idea of one being better than the other is subjective and comes down to personal preference.

Both white and dark meat have their own nutritional benefits that can help anyone. Eating Well, wrote about how white meat his leaner with fewer calories, less fat and more protein which can be beneficial for people limiting fat intake. However, dark meat has more fat but also provides other vitamins that help with immune function and oxygen transport. Since dark meat has a higher fat content it makes it more flavorful and filling. Houston Methodist also notes that without the skin on either cut it reduces sodium intake making both options healthier.

This claim is exaggerated a bit. With a little bit of research, I figured out that neither is objectively better, but they do have a different makeup, meaning white meat can be tolerated by more people. For instance, if someone had a history of heart problems, it would be best to stick to white meat due to its lower fat makeup, but darker meats like steak have higher zinc and iron levels. Overall, I think that they both have their upsides in different categories, and I believe this statement is false and purely objective.

The today.com source doesn't necessarily claim that either white or dark meat is better or healthier than the other. There are minimal differences in the nutritional aspects of both meats. They are both healthy and good for us to eat. Eating both would be just as beneficial as eating only one or the other. White meat has lower amounts of fat, meaning it is leaner, as well as calories and sodium. Dark meat however has more iron and zinc. I find this claim to be misleading as it's very hard to definitively say that one is better then the other. They both are very similar and have few minor differences that seem to offset. If anything, the decision is based off of personal preference between drier and more moist chicken.

What I found is that white meat is basically the same in terms of nutrition as dark meat, if you break it down. Both are great options for different reasons; it all depends on your goals and how you need to achieve them.

What I learned from this source below is that white meat has lower fat and provides higher amounts of protein than dark meat. Though dark meat does have a higher influx of calories.

Dark meat contains more vitamins, and that includes iron and zinc as well. Therefore, providing different benefits that white meat doesn't possess, on top of tasting better subjectively. There's also been no definitive answer to what's better. Thus, meaning it's a subjective personal decision, provided by each having their own unique and nutritious benefits.
