Israel just 'broke' a world record for kidney donors - but where did all the organs come from?

Forensic evidence and human rights organisations reveal, beyond doubt, organ theft from Palestinians detained in Israel's prisons. Yet this?

Your source isn't very credible. They don't have any actual evidence instead it is all opinion based. When I did my own research here I found that Israel does have a lower than normal organ donations than other countries due to religious beliefs. This is also not the first time that Israel been accused of harvesting organs from Palestinian prisoners back in 2009. But it was denied and also lacked evidence. My source also mention how Rabis how been promoting being an organ donor in recent years which has increase the amount of organ donations. Overall there isn't enough evidence to prove this.

Can't be true or false (Opinion, poem, etc.)

After researching the claim that Israel is using harvested Palestinian organs, I have found evidence that there may be some truth and incredibility in this statement. Using a 2007 J Med Ethics article, and a 2025 Novera Media article, there is past and recent evidence of human organ trafficking and stolen organs from dead Palestinians. However, there are some possible other explanations on how Israel passed the world record for kidney donations besides them stealing organs from Palestinians such as Israelis voluntarily giving their kidneys to others.

In the initial claim, you stated that there is undeniable evidence for human organ trafficking done by Israel, yet your linked article is misleading as it states there is no other possible reason why Israel had the largest amount of kidney donors. The article also seems to have a bias against Israel such as using apostrophes in a sarcastic manner. In the Canary article, the author writes that the reason Israel persuaded the Guinness World Record company to include them was that “These organisations, which weaponise ‘antisemitism’ to achieve their goals.”

In an J Med article, it was found in 2007 that Israel had been receiving organs from Palestinians, but these organs were voluntarily donated in return for money, as the Palestinians were suffering from poverty. However, the article also supports the idea that the Palestinian prisoners might have been pressured to donate organs or else their families would be left to starve. This argument supports the original claim made on News Detective as Israel does have a past connection to coercing or forcing Palestinian prisoners to give them organs.

In another article by Novera Media, it was reported by the Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor that there were released examined bodies that had their organs cut out and it was a sign of organ theft by the Israeli military. However, it was not possible for the human right group to fully examine more bodies as it is a warzone. It was also found in January 2024 that the IDF had been attacking cemeteries in Gaza, and the Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor had found stolen bodies and dismembered bodies.

While the original claim made on News Detective could have reason to believe that the reason why Israel has the world record for donated kidneys is because they stole organs from Palestinians, there is not enough concrete evidence to justify that most of the donated organs came from the war in Gaza. There are other factors such as Israel claiming to have a community of people that feel they have a responsibility to care for their country and donating their own organs or Palestinians willingly providing organs for benefits or the dismembered bodies were not actually from the effect of organ harvesting.
