#Russian fish exports to the European Union gained 5% annually in 2025 and reached 210,000 metric tons worth $830 mln, the Fish Union told TASS. The pollock fillet was the key driver for growth of Russian fish exports to the #EU.

Think of this as your investigation log. Answer each question to explain what you discovered and how you got there.

1. My findings when fact-checking this statement conclude that the statement is true and is accurate compared to the TASS website, but the source TASS itself is somewhat biased because it is state-controlled media. When I took a deeper look into the article itself, I found out the data is coming from the "Fish Union Group," who say these statistics are BASED on Eurostat data, which does appear credible, but we aren't presented with the raw data, so we will never know the exact numbers. The main source I investigated was TASS: https://tass.com/economy/2105833, along with EUROSTAT https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat. TASS showed me that the data and statement were correct compared to the original claim in the tweet. Eurostat gave me insight into where this data was actually coming from and that it is somewhat credible. Evidence that undermines the claim of the original tweet includes the conflicting data on Eurostat and the inconsistency in product classifications or value conversions. Tried to communicate through X but wasn't able to get a response.
