The truth is there, but only in a minute aspect. Indeed, the U.S. government participated in Ukrainian diplomatic affairs and backed democratic initiatives in Ukraine. According to Victoria Nuland, the U.S. invested more than $5 billion since 1991 to promote the transformation of Ukraine into a democratic state. Still, it does not prove the fact of the American orchestration of a coup.
More substantial facts include the fleeing of the president at the time of Maidan, and the fact that Ukraine's Parliament decided to dismiss him for the violation of his constitutional powers, planning new elections on May 25, 2014. OSCE observed this election, which proves that the process took place politically and electorally but not by means of orchestrating the coup.
Moreover, the facts about Russia are misleading too. The resolution of the UN General Assembly recognized Crimea referendum as having "no validity" and reasserted its territorial integrity.
Conclusion: The influence and interest in Ukraine were significant from the part of the USA. However, I failed to find any evidence of Washington orchestrating the 2014 coup or compelling Russia to wage the war.
