I consider this claim to be false. The original claim comes from Nancy Pelosi, as referenced from the article, but it appears as though she has no evidence to back this claim, calling on the FBI to investigate these protesters financing. It is important to note that protesters of the Vietnam war were condemned with similar words, and that many people of many creeds have all come together to protest the Israeli assault on Gaza, as can quickly be seen in this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9utaqkro3iw&ab_channel=GuardianNews While Putin has condemned the United States for "a clear example of the failed policy in the Middle East of the United States, which tried to monopolise the settlement process," quoted from https://www.reuters.com/world/russias-putin-sees-political-economic-upside-israels-war-with-hamas-2023-11-17/, this does not prove that Russia is sending money to pro-Palestine protesters in the United States, or anywhere else.

Nancy Pelosi is claiming that Russia is not planting people at ceasefire protests but that Russian agencies are funding these pro-Palestine groups. Pelosi wishes that the FBI would investigate their financials. There is no evidence to back up this claim.

A spokesperson for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said"It is unconscionable that an individual with such influence in this nation would spread unsubstantiated smears targeting those who seek an end to the slaughter of civilians in Gaza and a just resolution to that conflict." On its website, CAIR states that it is a grassroots organization and they have annual banquets where people can donate. They do not say they accept money from governments, let alone from Russia. The group Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) states in its annual report, "We don't rely on corporations, billionaires, or governments to fund our movement. We rely on people like you - we are 92% funded by individual donors."

While an internal investigation could possibly prove this to be true, based on the information found and the lack of evidence backing up the claim, this statement is likely false.

I appreciate how you quoted direct sources and provided evidence to back up your fact check. I also like how you added that there can be room for further research/ investigation.

My favorite fact-checks are of politics. They hold weighted importance, so much so that disinformation agents predominately take advantage of existing divisions and existing world news. Thank you for the in-depth investigation. You provided quotes and sources to back up your argument. Very nicely done!

Based on the article I found here, the statement above is based on a regard from Nancy Pelosi. Pelosi, earlier this week, I would say, successfully avoided a question regarding the democratic vote being negatively affected by the White House's stance with Israel.

The claim thus far has not been confirmed or denied as true based on Pelosi's statement, "I think some financing should be investigated. And I want the FBI to investigate that." She also said that she believes the protesters who are calling for a ceasefire are directly related to what Vladimir Putin wants.

This all is based on her own feelings without evidence. As well as the pressure of taking the heat off the President based on his alliance with Israel. This was just a statement that turned into confusion about what was right. This statement is more than likely false.
