Oregon Duck being added Fortnite

This is not true. In the user's bio, they stated that they are a satire/ parody page. From my knowledge, Fortnight has not collaborated with any Universities as well. If you look up anything that involves the Oregon Duck's mascot and Fortnite nothing comes up.

This claim in satirical and is proven to be satirical by the content creator who posted it. The biography of the account states: "Lieutenant in the Meme Wars, Serving up Duck Parodies // Memes // Satire with a little Thirst" (https://twitter.com/ThirstyyDuck) which is a direct clue to how the post about the Oregon Duck being an added character tp Fortnite is false and is a parody.

I believe this claim to be false. The account that posted the headline makes it clear that the account is a parody. In the bio they state, "Lieutenant in the Meme Wars, Serving up Duck Parodies // Memes // Satire with a little Thirst". This makes it clear that post was just something created in order to appeal to a certain audience. Also, the game Fortnite has not made an official announcements about an Oregon Duck playable character being added.

When doing a fact check on this claim, I have come to the conclusion that this claim is false/satire. When doing some research of where the source came from I decided to go upstream and find who created the content. The content creator, Thirsty Duck, first created the post stating that the "Duck is getting added to Fortnite." When looking at the creators handle, they state that they are "Serving up Duck Parodies//Memes//Satire with a little Thirst." When reading this claim it gives off the impression that this creator made up this claim for the use of satire and comedy. When looking at their other content, I noticed that they share false quotes from Oregon Athletes with the hopes of making it satirical. To make sure that this claim was false, I made sure to see if other news outlets were covering this claim, and after doing some research I couldn't find any sites that were covering this topic. Overall, this claim is false and it was only used for comedic purposes.

The claim that the Oregon Duck is being added to Fortnite is false. The claim originated from the account @thirstyyduck on X. The account is very bias since it is an Oregon fan account, and added no credible sources to backup the information. "The ONLY deserving mascot to be featured on Fortnite, Don't be jealous that yours can't make the cut." This is the quote posted by the original user, this quote in itself proves that the user is an avid duck fan, and is only sharing the post for that reason. I did not find any sources at all reporting on this claim on the internet. When I researched the claim, only information on other Fortnite updates were a result. the photo of the Duck as a Fortnite skin used in the post is most likely AI generated.

The Oregon Duck is not getting added to Fortnite, which would make the claim false. The claim originated from an X account by the username ThirstyyDuck and not a credible source. With a bit of research, it can clearly be seen that the X account focuses on promoting and posting content relating to Oregon Duck whether they are accurate statements or not. With more research, there are no other news of the Oregon Duck being added to Fortnite which further affirms the false statement since games like Fortnite promotes and advertises new characters being added to the game to build anticipation.

The claim that is presented in this post on X is false. The news source is X which is not a high-quality news source. The author of the post is an Oregon Ducks fan who in his bio says that all of their content is memes and satire. Thus stating that the post is false. This is a current post, however, Fortnite has not released any Oregon Duck skin. The image in the post is clearly edited.

Fortnite is an online video game and gaming platform created by Epic Games. It comes with six different game mode variations, all of which have the same overall gameplay and game engine: Up to 100 people compete in the free-to-play battle royale game Fortnite Battle Royale to be the last person standing.

A "skin" is an appearance that players can select for themselves while they play, encompassing their attire, gender, and general look. Over the years, Fortnite has worked with numerous brands and celebrities to create special skins, including the NFL.

The "X" user "ThirstyyDuck" made a fabricated claim that the Oregon Duck, the mascot of the University of Oregon, will be included in Fortnite. As said in their bio, this user is well-known for being a parody and meme page. This allegation is untrue since, as you can see from the image itself, the original source is the same Thirstyy Duck account. If you search for Oregon Duck added to Fortnite, you won't find any evidence of any kind of partnership between the University and Fortnite.

Your introduction on Fortnite was so helpful as well as the "skin" definition. Very thorough and useful for those who are not gamers.

No, the Oregon Duck Mascot is not being added to the game. The account is clearly biased towards the Oregon Duck is trying to inform people that the duck will added. There has been no word or comment made by Fortnite themselves. The fact that the post says,"The only deserving mascot" implies that this is false. The user is Thirsty Duck on X and the account is known for having false and misleading takes.

The claim that the Oregon Duck is being added as a skin to the game Fortnite is false. This claim was made by the X user "thirstyyduck." He posted a graphic and a tweet stating, "The ONLY deserving mascot to be featured on Fortnite, Don’t be jealous that yours can’t make the cut..." A google search of "Oregon duck Fortnite" will result in no sources or claims of it actually being added to the game, proving that this claim is false content.

This above statement that the Oregon Duck is being brought to Fortnight is in fact false. The user that shared this post on Twitter is Thirsty Duck and in the bio for this account, it included the words memes and satire which instantly takes away from the credibility of this post because the account is a parody page with no intent to harm because it is satire however it is still misleading because it is not true. When trying to research if Fortnight is adding the Oregon Duck to the game, there is not a single source that has any information on this further proving the falseness of this claim. When looking at the added characters for Fortnight, there is no mention of the duck. Websites in relation to Fortnight or game platforms in which you can access Fortnight have no mention of the Oregon Duck being added to the game, therefore this claim is absolutely false.

This is false. Not only has there been no record of Fortnight adding the Oregon mascot to the game, but the bio of the user from the original post states that it is a satirical page. Therefore the information is false and meant to trick fans of other college teams into believing that the Oregon mascot was chosen over theirs. Ultimately it is not harmful, just satire.
