The TikTok said that Kate Middleton is “missing and in a coma.” In an article by ABCNews, Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, was hospitalized after she was undergoing an abdominal surgery in January. They said Kensington Palace released a statement saying that she was most likely not to resume her duties until the spring. The palace also stated that Kate wanted to keep medical information private from the public. On January 29, the palace said that the Princess of Wales was discharged from the hospital and will return to Windsor, her home, to recover. The ABCNews article, shows a video of Kate spotted in public on March 7, Thursday, which was the first time she had been seen in public since Christmas Day 2023. This TikTok video and statement is false because she has been seen in public, which confirms that she was not in a coma.

To improve your fact check, I would label False at the beginning of your response rather than only at the end. I would also add more articles or cite directly from one of your citations why this is false.

You did a great job fact checking this claim. I like that your answer provides enough background information for someone who doesn't know anything about this can still understand.

You did a great job fact-checking this claim! You included credible sources to back your answer up and had good evidence. The only thing I would change is including the name of the original source that posted the false content.

This is a very well written fact check. You had good evidence to back up each claim and credible sources. The only thing different I would do is add in the beginning  that is is false for more clarity.

I think you did a really good job with this fact check. My only critique would be to include that the claim is false somewhere in the beginning of your fact check as well. The sources you provided are also well knows and legitimate sources. I like how in depth you went with your further research as well to prove that the original claim was false.

This claim is false. For some background this claim came from the understanding that Kate Middleton needed to have abdominal surgery. Kate Middleton nor the Palace was very specific as to what surgery she needed. A Spanish journalist made the claim that something went wrong during surgery and that it led to Kate Middleton being in a coma. The Palace responded to this claim by saying that Kate Middleton was in fact not in a coma. But before this the last time Kate Middleton was seen by the public was on Christmas Day in 2023. She was pictured with her children and husband Prince William engaging with the public. On January 29th, the Palace announced that Kate Middleton was released from the hospital and will return to Windsor. On March 7th, Kate Middleton posted a photo of her with her three children for UK’s Mother’s Day. This was the first time the public had seen and heard from her since Christmas Day. Now there is no actual proof that Kate Middleton was or wasn’t in a coma but to say that she is missing/disappeared is false and exaggerated. Kate Middleton was never missing in general but she was from the public eye.

This is a well-explained fact-check. You did a great job of giving the timeline of this situation. I agree with your claim that although there is no evidence that Middleton was or wasn't in a coma, to say she is missing is exaggerated.
