ByteDance, the company behind TikTok, has been offered an opportunity to prevent the ban. As described in a New York Times article, ByteDance has six months to find a buyer for the app. If they succeed in satisfying the government's conditions within that timeframe, the ban will not be enforced. However, if they fail to do so, TikTok will no longer be available for download or updates through app stores and internet hosting companies.

Therefore, while there is a vote for a ban, there remains a chance to avoid it under specific circumstances.

This is True, because technically they banned the app in a vote of congress but it is yet to be in full effect.

Obviously the source is credible and valid making this fact check a lot more shallow because I don't have to search too upstream for another source. Multiple other media outlets have covered this issue and I feel I found a quote that best explains the hinge of TikTok's existence.

Although House members who drafted the bill have previously said that it “does not ban TikTok,” the legislation in its current form requires ByteDance to divest TikTok within roughly six months in order for the app “to remain available in the United States.” If the bill is enacted, app store owners such as Apple and Google along with internet-hosting companies would be prohibited from supporting TikTok and other apps that are linked to ByteDance. 

For further context ByteDance is the Chinese data source that runs TikTok which is why the threat has been deemed imminent to the U.S. by congress.

This claim is true. In a recent decision made by the House an ultimatum was given to the owners of Tik Tok to either sell the company to an American buyer or have the app banned in the United States. This decision was made after a 352-65 vote for the possible ban. Rumors of a TikTok ban have been happening for the past four years; however, with the recent decision made by the House this is closest the app has ever been to a genuine ban. The reason the government wants this ban to happen is because they fear the owner of the app will sell the information it has of its American users to someone else for malicious reasons. It is important to keep in mind that the senate must also vote on this bill for it to become law which has not happened yet. 

Many other reliable sources have reported on this topic and all the language and information used is the same across each article.

While it is true that the proposed bill to "ban TikTok" has been passed in the House, the bill still needs to go through hearings in the senate, and then be signed into law by the President. Many members of Congress have stated the bill is not a ban on tiktok, but rather it forces TikTok's parent company, ByteDance, to dives or sell t it's interest to a U.S company. There is much back and forth online about if a ban will actually happen, but if ByteDance doesn't sell to a U.S. entity then it is possible. 

If you aren't already aware, ByteDance is a chinese owned company, and our government believe TikTok is selling our information and is a threat to national security. That is the reasoning behind this bill

This is partially true

The bill that may cause TikTok to be removed has been passed. This bill is cited below. The basic idea is that foreign applications created by adversaries to the US will either have the ability to sell the company to a US organization or they will be banned. Tiktok will most likely not sell as their algorithm is worth much more than US version of the app. That is talked about here New Report Looks at TikTok Usage Behaviors in the US | Social Media Today.

TikTok is not gone completely yet. However it is being band. There is a process that they are trying to initiate in order to get it banned in the US. The senate was able to pass a legislation to ban TikTok. That would force China's parent company to be sold in order to keep TikTok. They only have 9-12 months to be able to have the company be sold. In the article it mentioned “original proposal gave ByteDance just six months to divest from its U.S. subsidiary, negotiations lengthened it to nine” It’s currently in the process for president Biden to sign the legislation.
