Hi, although it seems that Aaron Rodgers is "near the top of the list," to be RFK's running mate, it is not confirmed that that is the case. It states that in the article you posted from https://www.nytimes.com/2024/03/12/us/politics/rfk-jr-aaron-rodgers-jesse-ventura.html

This claim is not true. Although Aaron Rodgers was one of the options at the top of RFK Jr.'s running mate list (New York Times), there has been no confirmation or public announcement from either side stating that Rodger's is his running mate. According to Sports Illustrated, Rodger's is out of the running, saying "Kennedy reportedly is setting his sights on California attorney Nicole Shanahan as his running mate, per Falzone" (Diana Falzone of Mediaite). Kennedy has not spoken publicly about who he has chosen as his running mate, or who is the new favored candidate.

This is an accurate answer. Yes, Rodgers is one of Kennedy's picks to be VP. However, there is too much speculation as to whether Rodgers will actually ACCEPT the position. A huge caveat to this is whether or not Rodgers would prioritize politics over football. Think about this: if the Jets make the playoffs and Rodgers ends up being the VP, would he miss preparations for the playoff football game to attend the Inauguration? This is just one of numerous questions to be confronted in this issue.

SI's source is https://www.mediaite.com/news/exclusive-robert-f-kennedy-jr-expected-to-tap-nicole-shanahan-as-running-mate/ which doesn't have any actual evidence/proof/source that Rodgers is out. The article mentions that a URL for Kennedy and Shanahan was registered, but that isn't enough proof. Also, is mediate.com a legitimate source?
