The U.S. House is trying to ban Tik Tok which would be the first national ban on an app. Many Open-internet activists say that if the U.S. were to ban this app it would go against the idea of an open internet.

The heading of this question is an opinion, which makes it difficult to verify. However, a poll conducted by Reuters found that 46% of Americans believe that a forced sale of TikTok would constitute a First Amendment violation, which serves to corroborate your claim that open-internet activists find the ban antithetical to the idea of an open internet.
