In this claim about Bill Gates and owning farmland, Bill Gates is the leading farmland owner in the United States, specifically managed through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Trust. Although he owns that much farmland, there is no concrete evidence supporting that the land Bill Gates and his foundation own is part of a doomsday map. The title is a bit misleading because it is an assumption that the land that he owns could be used for a doomsday scenario and is not necessarily owned for that purpose. In 2021, Gates said, “My investment group chose to do this. It is not connected to climate. Buy land—they aren’t making it anymore.” This quote from 2021 proves that he is purchasing land because it is a dwindling resource and sees profit in the future from it
