There has been no recent news of the South Korean government exempting the mandatory military service act for men. It is still by law, mandatory to serve two years of military service. However there are certain people like Olympic medalist that can be exempt under tight circumstances. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/golf/2023/10/01/south-korea-sungjae-im-si-woo-kim-win-earn-exemption-from-military-service/51812535/
