This is true. I just saw this post recently on USA Today. Austin was arrested in connection to the hit-and-run.

This is most likely not misinformation. Daylen Austin was arrested on April 15 in connection to the fatal hit-and-run in Eugene. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 22 as the investigation continues.

This is true. Many known news companies such as ESPN, Sports Illustrated, and USA today have written about this incident. Daylen Austin is a defensive back on the football team for the University of Oregon. ESPN reports that the 46-year-old man was hit approximately two miles away from campus.

Likely not misinformation.  

University of Oregon football defensive back Daylen Austin was arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run of a 46-year-old man.   The accident occurred between W. 4th Ave. and Polk St. in Eugene, Oregon, at approximately 9:10 PM on April 15, 2024.

Austin was booked into the Lane County Jail and subsequently released.  His pre-trial conference is scheduled for May 22, 2024.  In Oregon, a hit-and-run with a vehicle is a Class C felony and is punishable by up to five years in prison, although he will have to be convicted of such before any such punishment can be carried out.

This is true. I just read an article from ABC News. Austin was arrested in connection to the hit-and-run. He has initially been charged with felony hit and run. EPD is still gathering information before deciding on a final charge. They gathered information from the Lane County District Attorney's Office.
