Fox News is claiming that ICE released a report showing massive amounts of immigrants with criminal records are  roaming the US streets, including 62,231 convicted of assault, 14,301 convicted of burglary, 56,533 with drug convictions and 13,099 convicted of homicide. An additional 2,521 have kidnapping convictions and 15,811 have sexual assault convictions.

It is stated in the title of the article that tens of thousands of illegal immigrants with sexual assault and murder convictions are in the United States. According to the Ad Fontes Media rates, Fox News has a reliability score of 35.55/64, which can be defined as generally reliable with various reliability possibilities. Adam Shaw has been a political reporter with Fox News for the last 6 years with articles mainly focused on immigration and border control. The article was published on September 27, 2024. Articles regarding this topic have also been posted on many other reliable news outlets such as the National Review and BBC. The direct data from the article can also be traced to the ICE data referenced, which proves accurate with article statements. Although Fox News ranks as a skewed right-bias and some of the article analysis portrays this bias, the data presented in the article appears to be true, confirming the claim, and title of the article.

I appreciate you pointing out that there are other articles reporting on the same subject as well as giving credibility to the author. I think that something that would have been good to add is whether the actual numbers are true or not, or at least compare the statistics from what was in the original article to the ones that you found.

Seems like this simply references the original source (Fox News).

You mention: "The direct data from the article can also be traced to the ICE data referenced, which proves accurate with article statements." Was that data and the conclusions reached examined and cross-checked with other reputable sources?

I thought you did a great job finding the credibility of the claim, and comparing it across many different publications. Especially checking the reliability score of Fox News, and looking into Adam Shaw's history as a reporter,  your response is well researched. However, I would add that it is important to look at these numbers in context of how many immigrants are in the US without any convictions. While the number could be true that there are "tens of thousands of illegal immigrants with sex offenses and homicides," the center for immigration studies says that in "January 2022 there were 11.35 million illegal immigrants in the country." Looking at the total number, the original percentage is put in perspective.
