The article raises significant concerns about the practices of the Sage Women’s Center in Twin Falls, Idaho, a crisis pregnancy center that reportedly asks visitors for sensitive information, including nonmedical details about their religion and financial status. While the center claims to protect client health information, it is not bound by HIPAA due to its free services, leading to potential confidentiality issues. Experts highlight that such centers often use tactics to dissuade women from seeking abortions, including delayed services and scoring systems that assess clients' "abortion vulnerability." The center is affiliated with Heartbeat International, a network known for its anti-abortion stance, further influencing its operational practices. Additionally, the Idaho Attorney General is investigating these concerns, which have been echoed by medical professionals who find the detailed intake forms unusual and potentially stigmatizing. Overall, the center's methods reflect broader patterns seen in crisis pregnancy centers across the country.

Looking at the article and the evidence it provides, this argument is true while explaining the depth of this issue. This information is likely not misinformation. I want to add that there are Attorney Generals from five states being investigated which include Pennslyvania, Washington, New Jersey, and Minnesota. Law360 is the watchdog group that submitted these letters as they hope to charge the center with violating state consumer laws. The Sage Women's Center website appears to be a valuable resource women in crisis can go to as it even talks about how abortion works for different types of pregnancies with accurate medical information. This is common however as it gets mothers into the center where the staff can then work to persuade them to get an abortion. I would like to also address the fact that getting an abortion in Idaho is illegal, but traveling outside of the state for an abortion is legal for all Idaho residents. Sage's website says they can help get an appointment for an abortion through an in-person visit, but it would not be through the Idaho state government, creating another roadblock for these women to overcome. All in all, these women's centers don't help out mothers in crisis as they use multiple tactics to persuade women to not get abortions through open-ended questionnaires and delay of pregnancy test results.
