I think that the claim that chocolate is a healthy brain food is proven to be true. But it needs to not be taken out of context. What I mean by that is just because it says this doesn't mean you should start in-taking large amounts of chocolate everyday in hopes that it will boost your cognitive functions. The article talks about this towards the end but first starts detailing about how it can help.
Recent studies that the article quote is that by having at least one or two servings of dark chocolate can boost memory, improve cognitive function, and uplift mood, and strengthen immune system. Specifically I wanna talk about how it has to be dark chocolate. I did a little more research on this and a lot of the articles that I came across all said the same thing: dark chocolate. So that part should definitely be included in the claim because then it can be proven false. Chocolate in general is not healthy brain food, it must be dark for the best results. I found out that is because dark chocolate has the least amount of sugar and this works as boosting cognitive function because there is not that much sugar in the chocolate. In the end of the article it says, " Also – and here’s the hard part – moderation is key. A bite or two of dark chocolate that is not loaded up with sugar might be OK, but you’ll want to talk to a doctor before adding too much chocolate into your diet." So in the end, if its dark chocolate that is a small part of your diet and eating routine you may start to see some cognitive benefits.
