This is a true statement and it has not been taken out of context. You can access NBC's full interview here: https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-election/transcript-president-kamala-harris-interview-nbc-news-hallie-jackson-rcna176330 and see both in the unedited video and in the written transcript that this is what she said. It is in the context of her discussing her policies and why she feels that they are important to the current generation of Americans.

This is correct. The full transcript of the NBC interview conducted by Hallie Jackson includes the statement uttered by Vice President Harris. "And, you know, the idea of the American dream was something that previous generations could count on, not as much anymore." She can be seen and heard saying this at around 1 minute and 18 seconds into the video provided by NBC.

The claim that Kamala Harris stated β€œThe Idea of the American dream was something that previous generations could not count on. Not as much anymore.” is true. NBC News has a transcript of an interview between Hallie Jackson and Kamala Harris. In the transcript, when talking about inflation, Kamala says β€œthe idea of the American dream was something that previous generations could count on, not as much anymore.”
