I like that you used a reliable source that is supported by numerous other news sites as well. The specific information about the timing is also useful for putting this event into context.

This claim is true. The Los Angeles District Attorney recommended that the Menendez brothers be resentenced. He believes that they have "repaid their debt to society". This decision will now go before a judge, who will make the formal decision to resentence the brothers.

This claim is true, as the resource is reliable and accurate. Doing further research I also found other sites reporting the same information, such as BBC saying “The brothers are currently serving life without the possibility of parole in California. The Los Angeles County district attorney formally recommended their retrial in a document filed in court Friday, arguing for a lesser sentence for the two. If approved, the request would make the brothers eligible for parole.”

This claim is true. The Mendez brothers have been recommended for resentencing by the Los Angeles County District Attorney stating that "Under the law, resentencing is appropriate." If the resentencing is approved they will be eligible or parole immediately.

This is likely true. It seems like a few trusted news sources have posted that the Menendez brothers have been recommended for resentencing by the LA Attorney General. This is coming after the Netflix series Monsters, a fictionalized telling of the brothers' story, brought a lot of public attention their case. I found a New York Times article that supports this claim and also states that if the resentencing goes through, the brothers will be eligible for parole immediately because they were under 26 at the time of the crime.

It is a true claim that the Menendez brothers are subject to be resentenced with the possibility of parole. This is in recommendation of Los Angeles District Attorney, George Gascon. “I believe they have paid their debt to society” stated Gascon. One of the brother’s attorney’s added “I believe before Thanksgiving they will be home.

A publication from the New York Times validates the Menedez brothers' possible resentencing. However, the article states that “the reviews by the court and parole board could take many more weeks.” denying their resentence by Thanksgiving.

Another report by CNN qualifies their possibility of resentencing stating “A hearing on the matter could be held in 30 to 45 days.” As of October 25th. CNN mentions the same remark made by  the brothers attorney stating that he “hopes they’ll be home by Thanksgiving.”

This claim is true. There is a petition for the brothers to be released and they are supposed to be before a judge within the next month. They are hopeful to get a resentencing and be released ASAP. https://thestatetimes.com/2024/11/01/the-menendez-brothers-resentenced-and-possible-release-soon/
