Not misinformation.

Multiple users online have posted photos of the actor at this event.

Having this photo evidence really helps to back up the claim and help the validity of it. Were there any other social platforms with information or even news sources that had mentioned it? Obviously many news sources that report on celebrities are not the most trustworthy but they can just serve as extra evidence if they are saying the same things.

While this claim is true, I don't feel that this fact check is complete. There were several trusted news sources like the Washington Post, The New York Times, The Associated Press that all ran stories about Timothee Chalamet crashing his own look-alike contest. Including a trusted news source will make your fact check stronger, and its a good idea to avoid using platforms such a X when proving something true or false as social media is unchecked and you can never know who is posting that information.

I believe this is another way of spinning a small story. The competition was set up by Anthony Po, here:

Anthony Po on X: "I was behind the Timothee Chalamet lookalike competition. Thanks my #1 fan (timothee) for showing up. https://t.co/ZfYkOBuTNB" / X

He posts photos and videos of Chalamet showing up. Several other news outlets posted this story. However, they all use the same photos and videos, which I thought was strange, since there is a hoard of people all around him photographing.

Nevertheless, the news outlets confirmed each other's stories.

I took part in the viral Timothée Chalamet lookalike competition. Here’s what happened | CNN

Timothée Chalamet surprises crowd at NYC look-alike contest, as police break up event - CBS New York

Chalamet, however, didn't seem make a planned appearance. He came as soon as he left, just walking by as the other outlets confirm. We don't actually know if he meant to be there or not. There is little information on his whereabouts. I believe there would be more information on Chalamet if his intent was actually to "crash the contest". Also, New York Times explicitly says he never entered the contest. Thus, this is misleading.
