In this article on 'GWU' a claim is made by a 'judge' that the well documented case of Catholic priests and nuns murdering indigenous students attending residential schools in Canada did not happen. Isn't that an agreed upon historical fact and documented rather than a 'conspiracy theory' as the article describes it?

"Canadians are being “deliberately deceived by their own government,” accuses a retired judge.

In a recent article from The Western Standard, the outraged adjudicator lambasted Liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of gaslighting the truth and actively pursuing a policy that blames the Catholic Church for the unproven deaths and secret burials of indigenous children in residential schools.

“The Trudeau Liberals have actively pursued a policy that has both encouraged, and then kept alive a conspiracy theory—namely, that residential school priests, nuns, and teachers were responsible for the deaths and secret burials of the children placed in their care,” wrote retired Manitoba judge Brian Giesbrecht."

continued...

"Not a single ‘secret gravesite’ has been found let alone any mass graves containing human remains while mountains of cash have been dumped into government slush funds and Indigenous guilt hustlers pockets.

“Canadians are being deliberately deceived by their own government, the indigenous leadership, and our own media,” the judge cautioned.

He observed that the “false” claims made by the government and media have turned the truth “upside down.”

The truth, says the judge, is that historical records “clearly show” that “the children who died of disease or accident while attending residential school were all given Christian burials, with their deaths properly recorded.”"

Is this website the most credible source of information? The top headline of this article calls this a conspiracy theory and it is hard to find other information on this topic. Are there any other resources that could be used to support your topic further? The National Institute of Justice provides some information on the topic.

I think you might've posted the wrong link!

In the meantime, here's a NYT article that summarizes the findings pretty well: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/06/07/world/canada/mass-graves-residential-schools.html

There are exaggerated claims that are referenced in this article. Through research and found on https://www.snopes.com/articles/351645/unmarked-graves-indian-school/, multiple unmarked graves have been discovered in residential school sites in Canada. With ground penetrating radar and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission have documented widespread abuses, including deaths and improper burials.

However, important to question the extend of this and evidence that is supported by numerical data.
