After personal research, the two credible sources I found who covered the same topic were CNN and BBC NEWS which are two highly broadcast news channels. However, none of the articles stated that Trump winning the presidency was the “biggest political comeback in history.” CNN said Trump’s return into office was an, “ . . . ultimate comeback . . .” while BBC stated it was the “ . . . most dramatic comeback in US history.” The BBC article was written by Sarah Smith in the first person, creating bias, while CNN is known for its liberal standings. However, between the three articles they all mentioned the same events the current president underwent, supporting the overall claim. Such incidents included Trump being convicted as a felon, getting acused of sexual assault, and causing an insurrection at the capitol which all contributed to his insane “comeback.” CNN also provides various images that cite additional, reliable sources to back up the claim. For example, the article references the Department of Justice when discussing Donald Trump’s criminal charges, solidifying the facts. The original article mentions how Trump has made himself to be one of the most important/significant Republican presidents, following Ronald Reagan. Unlike the original article, neither of the reliable sources provided hardcore, historical comparisons to other presidents to support the original statement. Overall, I would say this is misleading and more opinion-based rather than factual.
