The claim that 1 out of 43 monkeys that escaped a South Carolina lab has been returned safely is true but mildly misleading. At the time of the submission, this statement was true, however, more monkeys have been found since then. The article provided states that the monkeys were bred for medical testing at the Alpha Genesis compound and escaped last Wednesday due to a door being unlocked. The news outlet this information was cited from was from a trustworthy source, AP News. I went to their website and confirmed that this information was the same on both platforms. I then searched up the headline to see if other news outlets had said similar things and the New York Post and CBS Chicago confirmed that one of the 43 monkeys had been found. Additionally, since this submission has been posted, CBS states that a total of 32 monkeys have been found and returned.

This is a strong factcheck, and I like how you went to multiple different sources to corroborate the claim, as well as I like how you prefaced the factcheck with the fact that at the time the information was true, but as time went on this information became false.

This is a very well-crafted factcheck. You recognized that the claim was both true and outdated at the same time. You explained how more monkeys had been recovered since then and you provided a more up-to-date reliable source to back this up. Great job!

This is claim is true but outdated. The article that was cited comes from a reliable source and all of the information is true. 43 monkeys did escape from a lab in South Carolina. However, this article was written 4 days ago on November 9. It is now November 13 and more up-to-date articles have been published on this matter. In the original article that was linked, it was stated that only one monkey had been recovered. According to a CBS News article written just 10 hours ago, 32 of the monkeys have been returned since the incident. These are both reliable sources. One is just more up-to-date. For this particular incident, it is best to read the most recent article for the most accurate information, because this incident is still ongoing.
