This claim is accurate. On Trump's agenda47 website, which lays out points of emphasis for the incoming Trump Vance administration, Trump states that his administration "will ask Congress to pass a bill establishing that the only genders recognized by the United States government are male and female—and they are assigned at birth."

This is a good factcheck, going directly to the source. Other Trump/Vance websites share the same language including this one with President-Elect Trump's direct words.

For further context, the agenda includes other language about not allowing transgender people into the military and preventing taxpayer money from being used in sex transition procedures
