I like the way you are very straight forward with your claim and don't use misleading terms. The BBC website is a very credible one, but I do suggest listing other sources to confirm the claim. The BBC article claim that it got its information from CNN and a close look at the CNN article shows that both articles contain similar information. (https://www.cnn.com/2024/11/10/politics/sonia-sotomayor-supreme-court-remain/index.html) It always good to triple check with a third source and an ABC article confirms the same information. (https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/sotomayor-plans-resign-supreme-court-sources/story?id=115715433) This article goes even further into Sotomayor's opinions on the issue, which is very important to know.

The article from the BBC, covers US Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor's age and allegations that she is being pushed to retire before the end of President Joe Biden's term. It covers the Republican party's dialogue accusing the Democratic party for urging the Justice to step down; however, it has been widely reported -- including in this article -- that Sotomayor has no intentions of stepping off the bench and is reportedly in "great health" based on statements from people close to her. Concerns about her health are rising as her age and diabetes are of increasing discussion according to reporting from CNN cited by BBC.

The article is based in truth as many other mainstream sites are reporting similar sentiment given the matter and there is no reason to believe, based on there being no counter reporting, that the Justice is going to step down before Trump's second term begins. The BBC is a reliable source as it has a solid track recording of following factual sources and journalistic integrity; however, matters of US politics such as the Supreme Court may be more understood when looking at domestic outlets rather than the BBC. Already, the BBC relief on CNN and ABC -- American networks -- for information sourcing which suggests their lesser direct insight into US news and events.

Here are some links to coverage from US domestic sources:
