While this graph does show that the overall trend in global temperature has gone down throughout history, it willfully misrepresents the problem of global warming we face today. This graph shows temperatures over hundreds of millions of years, but if you look at the very end of the graph, you can see the upswing in temperature in the current chapter of human history.

This graph by NASA shows recent temperature changes, and we can see that in the past 100 years, global temperatures have gone up about 1.25 degrees C, so global warming is still very much a problem in modern times.

This is a very good fact check. You provide your source, you give your answer to the claim which is very well thought out, and you summarize what your source is in case people don't visit it themselves.

Although I can't see what the post that was linked was anymore I know this claim is incorrect anyway. In this .gov article there is a lot of information about our warming planet, however some important facts are that 2023 was the hottest year recorded on planet Earth and a graph that shows the rise of global temperatures in just the last 140 years.

According to Climate.gov "Earth’s temperature has risen by an average of 0.11° Fahrenheit (0.06° Celsius) per decade since 1850, or about 2° F in total" and according to Nasa.gov "Overall, Earth was about 2.65 degrees Fahrenheit (or about 1.47 degrees Celsius) warmer in 2024 than in the late 19th-century" Even thought I can't see your source, it links me too bsky.app, a social media site. Social media sites simply cannot stand up to government sites.

Although the graph shows an overall downward trend in the avg. global temperature, it is a gross misrepresentation of the dialogue pertaining to global warming that is relevant today. The average global temperature has been increasing since the early 1900s, which is much more relevant to the discussion on global warming.
