This statement is effectively true. The government has recognized that UFOS are out there, however it hasn't identified any extraterrestrial living beings or anything that deal with the UFOS other than the fact that they are real. In a report by the AP News, there is a statement that comes from White House Press Secretary, Jen Psaki, and he states that the government seriously investigates any "incursions" into the national airspace by any aircraft whether or not it is an identified object or not. The article also adds that it takes unidentified flying objects seriously due to the potential risk of national security.  The FBI.Gov website also has records of all UFOS that have been spotted in the U.S. from a time period between 1947 and 1954. So, yes the government has come out and recognized UFOS, however, they have never released any information about the UFOS or confirmed any other life beings associated with UFOS.
