Is has come to surface that Starbucks served coffee and drinks for the first responders onsite at the convention, and partnered with the host committee, however they have not supported the RNC financially in any way. They also will be giving free coffee and drinks to the first responders at the Democratic National convention

This is correct. Starbucks did not fund the RNC—overblown tweets and jumping to conclusions led to a widespread occupation, which is, in fact, wrong. AP News, known for its fact-checking, also claims it is false.

This is a good fact check. I appreciate that you state why you linked the article you did, adding contextual background as to why you believe AP is a good source for these kinds of claims. I also appreciate that you add context as to where the false claims originated.

This is a true statement. Starbucks is not funding the RNC. In a news article written by The New Republic, they say that Starbucks made headlines because people pointed out that they were a sponsor of the RNC, but really, they just give out coffee to cops. It quotes “We are not providing a cash sponsorship of any kind,” Anderson said in an email to The New Republic. Instead of financial support, Starbucks is “providing in-kind support directly to the MKE 2024 Host Committee by providing coffee onsite to the first responders who are serving the city during the convention.” This shows that they are stating they are not funding the RNC.

TRUE

According to AP News,  "Starbucks is not providing the RNC with a cash sponsorship of any kind, Jaci Anderson, a spokesperson for the company, told The Associated Press. Rather, it is providing coffee at five RNC venues to first responders who are working at the RNC in an official capacity. That includes groups such as EMTs, firefighters and the National Guard."

Even then it partnered with It partnered with the nonpartisan nonprofit that hosted the convention, the Milwaukee 2024 Host Committee.

According to Anderson, Starbucks had a similar partnership planned with the host committee for the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.
