This article isn't so black and white whether farm raised is better than wild caught, but it does state the dangers that farm raised fish place on the environment as a whole.

Farm-raised fish can pollute waters, contaminate other spices with sea lice, though they can contain higher omega 3 fatty acids, which is essential to one's health.

Hi I appreciate the question you raised in your claim but you didn't really take a stance. I Think next time you should choose a side instead of merly asking a question; not truly a claim to anything here.

Your claims about the article are correct. The article doesn’t give a simple answer about which type of salmon is better. Instead, it explains the benefits and problems of farmed and wild salmon. Farmed salmon is healthy to eat and has high omega-3 levels, but it can hurt the environment by polluting waters and spreading sea lice. Wild salmon doesn’t have these same environmental issues, but the article makes it clear that both types of salmon are safe and healthy to eat. It’s up to the reader to decide based on what matters most to them health or environmental impact.

The answer to your question is not black and white. Many factors contribute to answering whether farm raised fish are "bad" or not. In an article by Colorado State University they provide three main topics that surround wild caught vs. farm raised seafood. Nutritionally, fish in the wild tend to have slightly lower saturated fat than farm raised varieties, which largely depends on what the fish is eating. If you are solely looking at contaminants, studies have shown farm-raised fish can be higher in contaminants. While mercury can be found in both farm-raised and wild-caught seafood due to industrial pollution, farm-raised fish tend to have higher rates of disease due to their farming conditions. Sustainability all depends on the type of seafood that you are fishing so it is not a determining factor in this debate.

Rather than just analyzing the claim and article provided, you got your own source on the topic which was really inciteful. I like how you tried to answer the question at hand too even though it wasn't very straightforward.

Your claim about this article is true--there is no black and white answer to farm raised vs. wild salmon. However, there are many potential health impacts regarding contaminants, the transfer of diseases, and pollution when discussing farm raised salmon. Generally, farmed raised salmon are at higher risk of contracting contaminants, as well as closer quarters allowing the diseases to be transferred from one another easier, including things like sea lice. The article also points out, however, that both fish are generally considered safe to eat, and provide important nutritional values like fatty acids, with farmed raised salmon providing potentially more so based on what feed they are provided with. Because this source is from a government website, and cites many studies regarding the topic, it seems to be a trust worthy source. However, to double check, I sought out another source, and found this article https://adjust.clinic/independent-study/is-eating-farm-raised-salmon-bad-for-humans/ that corroborates the previous statements, as well as providing its own sources regarding the nutritional values and potential health impacts regarding salmon. Both sources seem to agree that both types of salmon are generally safe to eat and provide individual benefits, however, contamination is something that should be kept an eye on.
