With so much turmoil in people's love lives, Americans are experiencing loneliness, declining birthrates, and a cascade of resentment. Representatives of "bro culture" are on the ascent, as evidenced by Donald Trump's popularity with young men, bringing with them an army of disaffected young men. The male breadwinner norm has become a kind of cultural anchor that keeps us going, but recently, men’s and women’s fortunes have been trending in opposite directions.

This is an opinion, not necessarily a verifiable true or untrue fact. The article however, presents a solid opinion piece with an argument surrounding young men that are dissatisfied with their success surrounding women, school, etc, therefore turning to other sources of men that promote hatred towards women and uplift men in a very harmful and isolating sense. A growing stray from gender stereotypes, where women are not the successful ones, is presenting a threat to a certain demographic of men and they tend to find solace in other men who share this discontent, which also happens to typically fall in a category of angry and conservative beliefs. The article cites the epidemic of loneliness as the source of young male support for Trump, which has no solid proof of data evidence to back it. It mentions social media and the manosphere that was utilized very intentionally by Trump in his campaign, as opposed to traditional promotional methods. A survey by The cut is mentioned, as women tell their horror stories from dating in this generation, often connecting to an outdated ideology from men in the dating pool that they must be the breadwinners, and feeling emasculated when they are not. This ideology divides the dating pool, and horror stories like this have the ability to further isolate this demographic of men, supporting the argument that dating culture is leading to these outcomes of support for men that find a commonality in traditional views and hatred for modern developments in gender roles, and the growing loneliness epidemic.
