This is true. CBS News is generally reliable but there are more sources that verify the story. This story has been covered by many other reliable news sources like NBC News https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/coast-guard-searching-five-people-fishing-boat-capsizes-alaska-rcna182421, CNN https://www.cnn.com/2024/12/02/us/alaska-capsized-boat-coast-guard-hnk/index.html, and ABC News https://abcnews.go.com/US/5-missing-alaska-after-fishing-boat-capsizes-coast/story?id=116355812. Additionally, the Coast Guard statement about this incident is available online and matches the claim. https://www.news.uscg.mil/Press-Releases/Article/3981295/guard-good-samaritans-searching-for-multiple-people-near-couverden-point-alaska/

Your fact check would be more complete with including how these sources verify each other, and what they all claim. Right now it is unclear how the story is true as no details are provided.

The sources you provided I am not able to open and you provided little insight into how these sources prove the claim true. The CBS news article provides baseline information and additional sources need to be added to provide more information. There are plenty of articles that added to the source and all you need to do is add them to show this information is true. And add some of your own information to the claim to make it stronger.
