According to the site AllSides, it is reputable and does not have any bias. In the article for your evidence, they also include that this is not the first time he has said such, "Trump has pledged on multiple occasions to bar transgender women . . . from female sports".

I don't believe this is the first time Trump has made this claim. It will definitely be interesting to see what unfolds once he is inaugurated into office in January. Overall, I think this could have some advantages and disadvantages when it comes to sports, especially women's sports.

This claim is accurate. According to the 2024 GOP platform, "keeping men out of women's sports" is a top priority. The Republican party has stated this applies to transgender women as well. Trump himself has said many times throughout his campaign as well as in a campaign video on social media that, "Title IX would prohibit men from participating in women's sports". In this case, he is once again wrongfully including transgender women in his statement. According to the NPR article cited above, much more than just sports are on the line with another Trump term ahead. In the campaign video linked below from January 31st, 2023, Trump explains firsthand how he will put laws into place, where the government may only recognize 2 genders, male and female, and must correspond to the gender assigned at birth. Trump, his team, and the GOP have laid out exactly how the bills they pass will strip transgender people of a majority of their rights.

This claim is true. Many sources confirm that Trump intends on banning transgender athletes from participating in women's sports. According to NBC news during a rally in Conroe, Texas in 2022 Trump stated that “We will ban men from participating in women’s sports.” In addition, according to the Hill, in 2024 Trump expressed that he “will absolutely stop schools from allowing transgender athletes to play on sports teams that match their gender identity.”

This claim is true. Its important to note that while this claim was made in early December, it is now February and things have evolved further. 

NPR, which is where this claim was taken from, is generally a very reliable source. But here is an NBC News article that also confirms his plan. 

I would also like to factor in the current situation, as this claim was made two months ago. Although he has only been president for 17 days, he has already followed through with this claim. NBC News, which states that he signed the measure, "No Men in Women's Sports Executive Order"on Wednesday, the 5th of February. AP News, The Washington Post, The New York Times, and many many other sources also cover this new executive order.

I know I'm replying after President Trump was inaugurated, so it is quite easy to answer, but this is true. On 02/05/2025 Trump signed an executive order banning "anyone assigned the gender male at birth" from participating in women's sports. The mandate will go into effect immediately.

The NCAA just today officially banned transgender athletes from women's sports, just one day after Trump signed the executive order. According to an article from fox news, it stated that "NCAA President Charlie Baker responded to the executive order in a statement later on Wednesday, saying it provided a "clear, national standard," and that the NCAA Board of Governors would review it and take steps to align the organization’s policy in the coming days." Despite just saying that yesterday they already acted on it by enforcing the ban.

Reading through the fine print of this order we can further confirm this statement of his plans of banning transgender athletes in women's sports. The order specifically states, “It shall also be the policy of the United States to oppose male competitive participation in women’s sports more broadly, as a matter of safety, fairness, dignity, and truth.”. For context, this order refers to transgender athletes as “male competitors” and “eligibility for participation in women’s sporting events is determined according to sex and not gender identity or testosterone reduction”. This direct source from the White House tells us that Trump is planning and working towards banning transgender athletes from womens sports.
