According to a CNN article summarizing the IHME's research, global life expectancy is forecasted to plateau by 2050. The stall is attributed to slowed progress in reducing risk factors like poor diet, obesity, and other preventable diseases.

Hello! Thank you for providing a good source to which you backed up your claim. After doing further analysis, it seems as if CNN pulled their data from the University of Washington's Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, which is a great research group. They described health risks that will put the USA behind in life expectancy compared to other nations, which does make sense considering our high disease levels. It also talks about obesity, which is 100% a prevalent issue that affects our health more than other nations. I think this claim is backed up with good evidence.
