This photo appears to be authentic. In the comments of the post, one user posted a screenshot of an X post using the same image, crediting photographer Tianyao Yang. Yang’s Facebook page doesn’t contain this photo, but inserting the image into Google Lens brings back a page from the Beijing Planetarium’s official website containing a 3000x3000 resolution version of the photo, which is the highest that I could find online.

Text below the photo credits Yang as the photographer, and also details the location, hardware, and camera settings for the photo. A note at the bottom of the page names and explains the significance of the six docked ships, which represented the largest number at any time in ISS history.

The photo is real, though most likely slightly edited for color. Photos of the moon from Earth tend to only capture white, black, and grey, and not the more vivid colors seen in this photo.
