This claim is true as Donald Trump posted to truthsocial.com that THE UNITED STATES SHOULD HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. THIS IS NOT OUR FIGHT. LET IT PLAY OUT. DO NOT GET INVOLVED!". Trump has called for troops to be taken out of Syria before, but was met with a similar response according to Forbes "His request was reportedly criticized by allies in the Middle East and by former military officials, who instead warned of a growing threat of ISIS in the region".
