The claim "There are only two genders" is false because gender is a complex and fluid spectrum, not strictly binary. Gender identity is distinct from biological sex, and people may identify outside the traditional male or female categories. Many cultures recognize more than two genders, such as the hijra in South Asia and Two-Spirit people in Indigenous North American cultures. Scientific research also shows that gender involves a mix of biological, social, and cultural factors. This perspective is supported by organizations like the American Psychological Association and World Health Organization, which acknowledge non-binary and gender-diverse identities.

hi there,

this is not true. it is completely false and misleading. there have been many studies that have proven that there are not only two 'genders' and that it cannot be boiled down to this false opinion. your source is from a tweet. not only that, but your source is from a trump Trump-supporting Twitter page. Trump is a man notorious for spreading false information and lies, he built his entire campaign on lies. Also, gender and sex are two separate things.  According to Merriam-Webster, gender is "the behavioural, cultural, or psychological traits typically associated with one sex". If you were attempting to argue that there are two genders, you'd be incorrect twice. Gender is not the biological sex assigned at birth, it is the traits that we are associated with based on our biological sex assigned at birth.

This statement is false. For years scientists and sociologists have agreed that there are more than two genders due to the social construct of gender. You might be confusing sex with gender. There are two (biological) sexes (possibly three with inter-sex) and multiple (social) genders.
